Uplifting & Energising: Our invigorating and cheerful blend of essential oils are just what we need this month

With so many of us looking for mental, emotional and physical support during these uncertain times of Coronavirus, our April blend of essential oils is designed to immediately stimulate and uplift our spirits in a positive way – something we could all do with during this time of worry and isolation.

With a fresh and light fragrance, this sharp and woody blend provides not only an invigorating aroma, but the combination of Rosemary, Eucalyptus and Lemon is also designed to provide a much-needed boost to our respiratory and digestive systems. Our stimulating April blend includes:

Rosemary: This very powerful herb oil is immediately stimulating and uplifting thanks to its minty, woody fragrance, whilst also providing regenerative qualities. With a history that goes back to the Egyptians, who used the herb in food, medicine and magic (burning sprigs were used to ward off evil spirits) – today Rosemary is used to sharpen the mind, boost energy (it is a great antidote for lethargy, weakness and exhaustion) and reduce fluid retention. It is also widely used as a respiratory and digestive aid, as well as helping with varicose veins and supporting circulation.

Eucalyptus: Like Rosemary, Eucalyptus needs to be used with caution as it is a very powerful and healing tree oil. Traditionally used to help heal wounds (it is a strong antiseptic), it also used as a respiratory aid and a support for muscular aches.

Lemon: Light, fresh and sharp, a lemon has many benefits for us both physically and emotionally – from the detoxifying, antiseptic and anti-fungal properties of lemon oil, to the calming energy the uplifting scent evokes in us, this simple fruit has been historically used as a cure-all treatment for many ailments and is still widely used today, especially for benefitting the digestive system and liver.

The April Blend is available as a Massage Oil (£10 for50ml) and Room Diffuser (£15 for 100ml). To shop online click here and delivery is free within Lymington (or £3.50 for Postage & Packaging within the UK).

*This blend is not suitable for use during pregnancy or if you suffer with epilepsy, high blood pressure, migraines and allergies. If you have a medical condition, please speak to your GP prior to using essential oils at home.*

After a cold and wet winter, it is time to shift the blues with our uplifting balancing blend

As the daffodils and blossoms start to appear and the rain clouds begin to (hopefully!) clear, March is the month that we start to feel a positive shift in our physical and emotional sense of wellbeing as we get ready to welcome spring and the promise of summer!

To help your body and mind shake off the dark days of February, our Balancing Blend for March is ideal for cleansing and clarifying, as well as calming any stresses and anxieties – especially important during these uncertain days.

Available in a Massage & Bath Oil and Room Diffuser, this blend is suitable for everyone and includes:

Bergamot: sweet, spicy and fruity, this citrus plant helps to create a sense of uplifting calm. It also helps to cleanse the digestive system and clarify the mind, plus boosting the immune system and aiding good respiration.

Geranium: similar to Rose, this popular flower has a distinct aroma and is a vital ingredient for any balancing blend. Used as a tonic for nervous system, Geranium will help calm stresses and anxiety while also regulating PMT and menopausal symptoms. It can also be used to help clear skin concerns (including acne, burns and broken capillaries) and great to use in a cold compress for bruises.

Geraniums help calm stress and anxiety

Petitgrain: sourced from the leaves and twigs of an orange tree, its woody, floral and slightly citrus aroma makes it instantly soothing. Not only does it help to counter anger, panic and other strong emotions, it is great to use in a massage oil working as a muscle relaxant.

The March Blend is available as a Massage & Bath Oil (£10 for50ml) and Room Diffuser (£15 for 100ml). To shop online click here or select this blend at your next Massage House treatment.

february immunity essential oil

How to fight off the flu with our immune boosting blend

Traditionally one of the coldest months of the year, February is the month where most of us will be trying to fight off the coughs, colds and other lurgies.

Our handmade essential oil blend from The Massage House is punch-packed with immune boosting ingredients that will refresh, uplift and restore whilst also kicking those bugs into touch, including:

Lemon – historically known for being a ‘cure-all’ treatment for everything from poisoning to typhoid and scurvy, lemon is used as a sharp, fresh and strong antiseptic. Largely misunderstood as an acid, it is actually an alkaline and therefore a huge benefit to the digestive system and the liver.  Aside from using it in our blend, you can also cleanse your system by drinking a squeeze of lemon juice in hot water to flush and boost your system.

Lemongrass – with its distinctly earthy aroma, lemongrass is a great strengthener for your immunity and has been used in Indian medicine for centuries to help fight infectious diseases and fevers.  The properties have also proven to sedate the central nervous system, so are great for stress and exhaustion. It increases circulation and helps to eliminate lactic acid, which helps to reduce cellulite and acts as a skin and muscle tightener (but must not be used direct on the skin).

Peppermint – is another essential oil with an ancient history as a detoxicant. Famous for cleansing the stomach and clearing nausea and headaches, it is highly beneficial and powerful so best used in moderation. It has fabulous cooling properties for reviving tired feet and legs, and it certainly takes the sting out of sunburn.

Ti Tree – a totally unique oil as it is antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic AND antibacterial! Renown for its woody, medicinal aroma, Ti Tree has been a key ingredient in the Aboriginal people’s first aid kit since the start of human existence, by helping to stimulate the production of white blood corpuscles giving it the capacity to fight many conditions from colds to cystitis.

ginger essential oil

Ginger – is spicy and instantly warming, so a great aid for chills and fevers, plus its cleansing antiseptic and pain relieving benefits help to stimulate your circulation system, clear cholesterol and purify the blood.

The February Blend is available as a Massage Oil (£10 for50ml) and Room Diffuser (£15 for 100ml). To shop online click here or select this blend at your next Massage House treatment.
